Tumblers are a convenient, effective, and safe way to bring hot or cold beverages with you on the go. Igloo makes a wide variety of tumblers, so whether you’re keeping your coffee piping hot on the way to work or making sure your drink stays frosty while fishing, you can rely on an Igloo tumbler.
What is a tumbler cup?
A tumbler cup is an insulated cup that you can use to transport your hot or cold beverages. Igloo’s tumblers are made with vacuum-insulated stainless steel, which helps to ensure that you don’t lose any liquid while also keeping the internal temperature stable. The construction also keeps the outside of the vessel from becoming too hot or cold, so it remains easy to grip without burning your hand. Tumblers come with secure sliders, rocker-buttons, or flip-top openings for easy access to your beverage; instead of removing the entire lid, you can simply pop open the top and take a sip whenever you’re thirsty.
Are tumblers dishwasher-safe?
No, tumblers should not be put into the dishwasher — but the lid is top shelf dishwasher safe. Putting your tumbler through the dishwasher may risk damaging the seals, insulation, and external finish.
Instead, simply handwash your tumbler between uses or before storage. If your tumbler carries an odor or stains, you can use white vinegar or baking soda to gently remove them. Be sure to thoroughly rinse with warm water and repeat if needed.
It’s also important to note that your insulated tumbler is not microwave or oven safe, should not be frozen, and should never be cleaned with abrasive bleach or chlorine cleaning products.
How long do tumblers keep beverages cold or hot for?
Igloo insulated tumbler cups are built with state-of-the-art insulating tech to ensure that your beverage stays at the desired temperature. The exact duration of time, however, depends on the size of the travel cup you choose:
- 12 oz: 24 hours of cold liquid retention, 4 hours of hot liquid retention

- 22 oz: 30 hours of cold liquid retention, 8 hours of hot liquid retention
